The Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Bjørn Arild Gram paid Yeti Move a visit this afternoon together with Kari Anne Sand, the Mayor of Kongsberg and Birgitte Engebretsen, Head of business, Telenor Norway.

During the visit we told the company’s story on growth during the pandemic and how we currently are delivering autonomous snow clearing system to both Stockholm and Oslo Airport on a commercial basis. To succeed with this, Yeti Move is depending on partners like Telenor to establish private mobile networks. Telenor and Yeti Move already have a pilot project running that uses a 5G communication solution for autonomous vehicles.

The use of 5G opens new opportunities for the industry. The minister will soon establish a 5G industry forum where businesses and the authorities can reveal how different industries can utilize 5G technology to strengthen competitiveness and create new growth. Norway can become the world’s best arena for industrial 5G, and Kongsberg can become a very important player.
