Snow clearing plans are pre-configured in the planning tool. Once the airport has been defined in the system, a user-friendly tool is used to create missions by selecting path, number of vehicles, formation, speed and equipment settings (plough, brush, fan and chemicals).
In an operational phase the user can select among available vehicles for each mission and start the autonomous operation. The operation can be monitored from a control room or vehicles. Various settings can be modified to adapt to the current environment. Several missions can be executed at the same time.
A safety evaluation will be performed with the customer prior to operational phase where different types of safety barriers are identified. Based on this some customers require a safety driver, normally in the first vehicle. The driver will not perform any operational tasks but is able to pause or stop if any safety issues are detected.
Driver assist is a tool for efficient planning and execution of snow clearing operations eliminating or reducing the need for dedicated drivers and comprehensive training.
There is still a driver in each vehicle with a driver assist display giving guidance according to plans.
During operations, the driver will be given guidance on driving direction and equipment settings. Equipment control can be done manually or automatically (option). If the equipment control allows for remote control the Driver Assist can execute settings according to the plan.
Grass cutting at airports are suitable for autonomous operations and can be planned with several alternatives according to different types of machines and areas. Multiple grass cutting patterns are available, also with machines in groups. The operation can be monitored from fixed or handheld device. Safety barriers are implemented to safeguard the autonomous operation. Autonomous operations require drive-by-wire ready machines.
Fleet Cloud is a condition monitoring and operational reporting system. It is a highly efficient software-based tool for monitoring of real-time parameters including detailed analysis of your vehicles and machines. Different views, dashboards and reports are available to get in depth analysis of your operations.
Implementing autonomous systems requires automated functions to support operation and maintenance. Fleet Cloud will generate warnings and alarms based on maintenance schedule, wear and tear and fuel/energy levels. The system supports automatic notifications on email and SMS.
Fleet cloud has two-way communication supporting remote diagnostic and software updates. Depending on vehicle or equipment manufacturer fleet management can be implemented to support maintenance agreement.
